Today, church web sites are a critical component for recruiting new members, as well as keeping current members informed of events, stewardship opportunities and other spiritual resources. Located in Columbia, S.C., Shandon Presbyterian Church is well known for its active volunteer base and child development center. A client since 2003, Period Three has led Shandon Presbyterian through three design phases as the church’s Web site needs have grown.

Need
Initially, Shandon Presbyterian needed a simple web presence, which Period Three delivered on time and on budget. Pleased with the services provided, Shandon Presbyterian turned to Period Three again to add several key functions that would further convey the spirit and warmth of the faith community and keep its numerous committee leaders and volunteers well informed. In addition, Shandon Presbyterian wanted to promote its Child Development Center, a preschool and after-school ministry for children.

Solution
Period Three provided Shandon Presbyterian with a new Web site that included its content management system, Simple Content, secure access pages for church leaders and volunteers, events calendar, volunteer sign-up form, photo gallery, and e-newsletter. Period Three also developed a sister site for the Child Development Center that has a secure access section for staff and parents.

Results
Shandon Presbyterian Church is very happy with its web sites and continues an on-going relationship with Period Three.
